Baggage Rule (I)

1. Carry-On Allowance:
Each passenger is allowed to carry on one bag and one personal item such as a laptop bag, handbag, or briefcase. Assistive devices and outer garments do not count as personal items. All carry-on luggage must fit in the overhead bin or under the seat in front of you. You must be able to lift your carry-on into the overhead storage without assistance. All carry-on bags must adhere to the following requirements:
a) Maximum Dimensions of Carry-on Luggage: 45 linear in/115 cm (length 55 cm + width 35 cm + height 25 cm)
b) Maximum Weight of Carry-on Luggage: 15 lb/7 kg (including personal item)
Due to airport security regulations, no cabin baggage is allowed on any flights originating from Jammu and Srinagar airports.

2.Checked Baggage Allowance:
a) Maximum Dimensions: 62 linear inches/158 cm (length + width + height) 
b) Maximum Weight: 33 lb/15 kg. 

3. Excess Baggage Fee: A flat rate of $4 (INR 250) is applied for any excess baggage, hand or checked. The following fees are applied in addition to the flat rate: 11 lb/5 kg of excess baggage: $8 (Rs. 500). 22lb/10 kg of excess baggage: $24 (Rs. 1500). 

4. Sports Equipments: Skis, golf bags, large musical instruments, bicycles, surfboards, and other such large and/or odd-sized checked bags will be subject to a fee of $16/Rs. 1000 per piece of equipment. Items weighing more than 12 kg must be checked as excess baggage.

• Compressed gases - deeply refrigerated, flammable, non-flammable and poisonous such as butane oxygen, liquid nitrogen, aqualung cylinders, and compressed gas cylinders
• Corrosives such as acids, alkalis, mercury, and wet cell batteries and apparatus containing mercury
• Explosives, munitions, fireworks and flares, ammunition including blank cartridges, handguns, fire works, pistol caps
• Flammable liquids and solids such as lighter refills, lighter fuel, matches, paints, thinners, fire-lighters, lighters that need inverting before ignition, matches (these may be carried on the person), radioactive material, briefcases and attache case with installed alarm devices
• Oxidizing materials such as bleaching powder and peroxides
• Poisons and infectious substances such as insecticides, weed-killers, and live virus materials
• Fish (including other seafood), animals, birds, insects in any form, whether alive and/or dead and/or frozen and/or dried and/or cooked
• Anything that possesses and/or is capable of possessing and/or emitting a conspicuous and/or offensive odor
• Other dangerous articles such as magnetized materials, offensive or irritating materials
