Baggage Rule (I)

Size 
Carry-on size is calculated by measuring a bag's length, width and height. The total can be up to 118cm (46.5 inches). 

Allowance

• Economy fares get one carry-on bag plus one small item, like a handbag or thin laptop. 
• Premium Economy, Business Premier, connecting Business Premier, and Airpoints™ Gold, Elite and Star Alliance Gold members get two bags plus one small item. 

Weight

• An economy carry-on can weigh up to 7kg (15lb). 
• Premium Economy, Business Premier, connecting Business Premier, and Airpoints™ Gold, Elite and Star Alliance Gold members' carry-on can weigh up to 14kg (30lb) total, with one item weighing up to 10kg (22lb).

• More than one box of matches or lighter
• Liquid oxygen systems
• Disabling devices containing an irritant or incapacitating substance, such as pepper spray
• Electric shock weapons containing dangerous goods such as explosives, compressed gas or lithium batteries
• Aerosols that are not medicinal or toiletry items
• Security type equipment - such as attaché cases, cash boxes and cash bags - that include lithium batteries, pyrotechnical material or other dangerous goods as part of the equipment
• Hoverboard, Mini-Segway, solo wheel, air wheel, balance wheel, Lithium powered skateboard or Personal transportation devices with onboard storage and similar lithium battery powered small recreational vehicles
• Installed or spare lithium batteries with ratings more than 160Wh or 8g lithium content

Cancellation Policy (D)

Economy

• Before departure, refundable less USD $300 cancellation fee per adult and child; infant fares are fully-refundable.
• Once travel has commenced, the fare is non-refundable (including any fuel surcharges) but may be used as credit toward another Air New Zealand fare of equal or greater value.
• For no-shows, the ticket value is forfeited and the ticket cannot be used towards further travel or rebooked for an alternative travel date.
• Exception: Tickets are fully refundable if canceled within 24 hours of making the reservation and the reservation is made at least 7 days (168 hours) before departure of the first flight in the itinerary.

Premium Economy

• Before departure, refundable less USD $300 cancellation fee per adult and child; infant fares are fully-refundable.
• Once travel has commenced, the fare is non-refundable (including any fuel surcharges) but may be used as credit towards another Air New Zealand fare of equal or greater value. For no-shows, USD $150 charge will apply.
• Exception: Tickets are fully refundable if canceled within 24 hours of making the reservation and the reservation is made
