A list of selected hazardous materials permitted to carry both in hand and checked baggage:

  • Heat generating devices, such as underwater torches (diving lamps) and soldering irons.
  • Dry ice in quantities not exceeding 2.5 kg (5 lb) per person if it has been used for the protection of perishable goods, which are not subject to these requirements, in hand luggage, provided that the packaging allows for the emission of carbon dioxide. Dry ice in checked baggage requires the consent of the airline, and every item of checked-in baggage must be marked "dry ice" or "carbon dioxide, solid" with the net quantity of dry ice given or with an indication that inside there is 2.5 kg or less of dry ice.
  • Cool containers containing cooled liquid nitrogen, fully absorbed in the porous material and used for transport at low temperatures of safe goods not subject to the relevant provisions, provided that the structure of the cool container does not allow the production of excessive pressure inside the container and does not permit the release of cooled liquid nitrogen irrespective of the manner of container placement.
  • Inflammable gas cylinders, installed in a life jacket, containing carbon dioxide or other suitable gas up to two (2) small cylinders per passenger and up to (2) two spare cylinders.
  • Oxygen or air, gaseous state, small cylinders for medical applications. The cylinder must not exceed 5 kg of gross weight. Note: Liquid oxygen systems are prohibited for air transport.
  • Non-radioactive medical goods and toiletries (including aerosols) such as hair sprays, perfume, cologne and medical goods containing alcohol. The total net weight of the above-mentioned articles must not exceed 2 kg (4.4 lb) or 2 l (2qt), and the net weight of a single article must not exceed 0.5 kg (1lb) or 0.5 l (1pt). Drain valves in aerosols must be protected by a cap or other suitable mechanism protecting against unintentional outflow of the content.
  • Alcoholic beverages, if packed individually and containing more than 24% but not more than 70% of alcohol by volume, in vessels of no more than 5 l, with the net amount of 5 l per person.
  • Cylinders with inflammable, non-toxic gas used to operate artificial limbs. Also, spare cylinders of similar size, if the declared number is required during the trip.
  • Consumer electronic devices containing lithium or lithium-ion batteries, such as watches, calculators, cameras, cell phones, laptops, camcorders, etc. if they are carried by the passengers or crew members for their personal use.
  • One (1) medical or clinical thermometer containing mercury is allowed per passenger for personal use, provided that it is carried in a protective case.
